Olga Paliy is a Ukrainian-born pianist. She is a graduate of the Kiev National Academy of Music in Ukraine, where she was selected for a Presidential Scholarship and holds a Masters Degree in Piano Performance with Honour. Thanks to the generous support of the Yamaha Foundation, Leverhulme Trust and Stanley Picker Trust Olga has completed her Postgraduate studies with Distinction at the Royal Northern College of Music and is now finishing her Masters Program at the RNCM.
Olga has given many solo recitals in the Ukraine and the UK and has appeared as a concerto soloist with different orchestras including Lvov Symphony Orchestra, Kiev State Symphony Orchestra, Chernigov Municipal Orchestra and Manchester Beethoven Orchestra.
Olga was successful in the numerous international piano competitions such as Ragusa-Ibla (Sicily, Italy), The Art of the 20th century (Vicenza, Italy), Newport International Piano competition (UK), Croydon Concerto Competition, Dudley International Piano Competition, etc.
Olga has performed at major Manchester and London venues including St.Annes Church, St. Martin-in-the-Field, St. James Piccadilly Church, Rosslyn Hill Chapel, Sauthwark Cathedral, Chappell of Bond Street and the Wigmore Hall. While her studies at the RNCM Olga has been selected to participate at the public Masterclasses with Arie Vardi, Michel Beroff, Stephen Hough, Anton Voight, Charles Rosen, Michal Dalberto, Nelson Goerner, Angela Hewitt and Jerome Rose.
In June 2009 Olga became a holder of the Emmanuel Prize as a soloist (Manchester), and was a finalist of the Kenneth Loveland Gift. Olga was one of the finalists of the Gold Medal Weekend at the Royal Northern College of Music, which took place in June 2010.
In September 2010 Olga successfully performed J.Brahms Second Piano Concerto with Kiev State Symphony Orchestra (Kiev, Ukraine) and as a result was invited to perform the same concerto in April 2011 (Chernigov, Ukraine). |
